Amp Rantoul - Day 6- Offensive line beginning to click, first day of two-a-days

The Illini seem to have their offensive skill positions in line for the 2009 season. Stacked at receiver, quarterback, and running back, the only question for this offense seems to be with the line.

"It's really important to have a strong offensive line," center Eric Block said. "It starts with us. Juice needs time with the ball, the running backs need holes to run through, so it's our job to get that for them, and we plan on doing that."

The line was a disappointment last season for a team that was full of them, so improvement this year has been crucial.

That improvement started off the field. Block was lauded by coaches for taking leadership of summer workouts. The starting center said the players are becoming more comfortable with each other, something that makes on-field communication much easier.
