Police searching for suspect in St. Louis bank robbery

(KMOV)-Police are searching for the suspect who robbed a bank in St. Louis.

This happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bank of America at 6639 south Kingshighway.

Police say the robber spoke briefly with the teller then left saying he needed to get his wallet. When he returned moments later, the teller recognized him and motioned him to come to her station. That's when the robber demanded money. The robber never displayed a weapon, but threatened to hurt the teller.

After the teller gave him an undisclosed amount of money, the robber ran north on Kingshighway. Police have no vehicle description at this time.

The robber is described as a black male in his 40's or 50's with graying hair near his temples. He stands about 5'6 "to 5'10" and weighs between 140 to 150 pounds. He was wearing round-rimmed glasses with a blue baseball cap with the orange letter T on the front.

Police are saying this person may have allegedly robbed at least 3 other non-bank businesses in the last 2 weeks.

Police ask if you have any information to call the St. Louis Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
