(KMOV) -- A maintenance worker at a local children's center is charged with molesting a young family member.
James Wuest, 45, is charged with statutory sodomy and child molestation.
Wuest is accused of abusing a relative under the age of 12 between October and December of last year.
The victim's mother called police in April and Overland police arrested Wuest Friday.
Wuest was a long-time employee at the Edgewood children's center where he worked in the maintenance building.
The CEO at Edgewood said Wuest did not have direct contact with children.
He handled maintenance and landscaping for the Mental Health and Child Welfare Center for at least 10 years.
He said recently Wuest had some health issues and was working scaled back hours.
Once charges were filed, the center fired Wuest.
Overland Police Chief James Herron said their evidence points to one victim.
"We have talked with the employer but at this point in time we don't have any information or evidence that would lead us to believe there was a crime perpetrated at his place of employment," he said.
Chief Herron said detectives are looking into possible child porn charges.
Police took two home computers from Wuest's home and the chief said one did show signs that Wuest downloaded child porn.
