HOUSTON (AP) -- Miguel Tejada singled in the winning run in the ninth inning to give the Houston Astros a 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night.
Tejada's line drive to left field scored Jeff Keppinger and completed a three-game sweep of the NL-Central leading Cardinals.
After the hit Tejada was mobbed by most of the team near the mound.
Chris Coste, subbing for the injured Lance Berkman, doubled in the tying run in on a long fly to center field that was just out of the reach of Colby Rasmus.
It was the first run St. Louis closer Ryan Franklin (2-1) had allowed in 18 innings. He allowed four hits.
Houston closer Jose Valverde (1-2) pitched a scoreless ninth for the win.
