COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Ryan Ampleman hit his first career home run in the bottom of the ninth to give Missouri a 13-12 win over Kansas Sunday.
Ampleman's heroics came after Kansas had scored five runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game at 12.
Missouri (30-23, 16-11) took a 12-7 lead into the ninth. But Kansas (35-18, 13-11) got a grand slam from Tony Thompson and an RBI single from Brian Heere to tie the game. The Jayhawks had a runner on at third but Phil McCormick got the next two batters out.
In the Tigers' ninth, Ampleman hit a 2-0 pitch over the wall in right centerfield.
Kansas committed four errors in the game, which led to five unearned runs.
