Margaret Moggio said it seemed like old times as one of her last motions as a trustee on the Glen Carbon Village Board was shot down 4-2.
In her early days on the board, her's was often the lone dissenting vote, but this time she and Bob Buehler cast the only yes votes. Moggio had moved to take Ordinance 2008-01 off the table and bring it to a vote and Buehler seconded the motion. The ordinance would outlaw any type of hunting in the village.
Firing a gun within village limits is already outlawed, so the new ordinance would have targeted bow hunters.
The first to speak against it was Trustee Larry Kacer who said people whose 40 acres or more of property lies within the village are entitled to have bow hunting on it.
