SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Parts of downtown Springfield will be changed into a Civil War field hospital next month.
The event -- from June 5 to 7-- is part of the year-long celebration of Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday.
The Old State Capitol grounds will become the site of a Civil War encampment and there will be re-enactors.
One of the days will also be dedicated to youth with impersonators, a fashion show with clothes from the Civil War era and areas to try out military drills.
The event is sponsored by groups including the Old Capitol Foundation and the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency.
