Ex-health care firm official guilty of bank fraud

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A woman who formerly worked as a health care company supervisor faces sentencing Dec. 27 after admitting that she stole more than $100,000 through bank fraud from SSM Health Care.

Federal prosecutors say 46-year-old Pamela Hoernschemeyer of St. Peters pleaded guilty Monday to three bank fraud counts. She was a supervisor at Lackland Acquisition II LLC, also known as Healthcare Strategic Initiatives and Nextgen Healthcare.

Authorities say Hoernschemeyer submitted fraudulent check request forms to SSM, generating refund checks amounting to more than $100,000.
