MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOV) – A teenage girl told police she was sexually assaulted as she walked home from a friend’s house in Maryland Heights Wednesday night.

Police said an 18-year-old female arrived at the St. Louis County Police Department off Ashby Road around 11:45 p.m.

She told police she had been sexually assaulted near the intersection of Bennington Place and Fee Fee Road, not far from Parkway North High School.

She described the suspect as a heavyset Hispanic male in his 40s. He’s approximately five foot six inches tall, weighs 175 to 200 pounds and has sideburns. During the encounter, he was wearing a grey t-shirt and dark-colored pants.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police are still looking for the suspect.

Parkway North’s principal, Jenny Marquart, sent out a letter to parents showing her concern Wednesday afternoon.

“While the incident did not occur on school property nor did it involve a current North High student, I value my responsibility to share information with you, particularly when it involves the safety of our students,” a part of the letter read. “Our School Resource Officer and Parkway’s Security Department will continue to work closely with the police and take any precautions necessary to ensure our students are safe at school.”

Anyone with information is asked to call St. Louis County Police at 314-889-2341 or make an anonymous call to Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
