St. Clair County to offer free H1N1 flu vaccine

(KMOV)—The St. Clair County Health Department has received a limited shipment of H1N1 nasal mist flu vaccine. An H1N1 vaccine clinic will be held on Thursday, November 12, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm for targeted groups only at the health department’s offices located at 19 Public Square, Belleville.

As more vaccine becomes available, additional clinics will be scheduled. Vaccine will be offered to targeted populations defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) who are eligible to receive the nasal form of the vaccine. These populations include:

- Household contacts and caregivers of children younger than six-months of age. (Must be 49 years old or younger)

- Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel with direct contact with patients or infectious material. (Must be 49 years old or younger)

- 2 years through 24 years of age

 You MUST also be:

- Healthy

- Non-pregnant

- No chronic health conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, etc.)

 

If you are eligible to receive the nasal vaccine and plan to attend the clinic, you can download vaccination forms at our website and complete them ahead of time: www.health.co.st-clair.il.us. There is no charge for the vaccine.
