Police Guarding Trash Bin Where Body Was Found Hours Earlier

Even late into the evening, the crime scene tape still surrounded a large area of the Monroe Woods Apartments in Pacific, Missouri. Police stood watch over a trash bin area, near the front entrance of the complex.

Around noon, a body was found in a fenced, trash bin area of the complex.

The Major Case Squad was activated and responded to the scene, but did not release any official statements regarding the investigation.

Residents who live in the area stood on the street, watching investigators take photographs and comb through evidence at the scene. One woman said she just wanted to know if the person found dead lived in the complex or if she should be concerned. She said she, "won't sleep well tonight knowing the person lives here."

Late Tuesday night, nearly 10 hours after the discovery, it's not clear if the person found is a man or a woman. It's also not clear whether detectives, themselves, know for sure.
