Sorry but it's true. I know it can be a major hardship for a lot of folks but I just love it. In my mind if it's going to be cold I would just as soon have snow. Maybe that has something to do with having just returned from my 18th trip to the Steamboat Weather Summit in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. They get some serious snow out there. I remember being there a few years back when they received over 24 inches of snow one Thursday night. All the locals called in sick the next day and charged down the mountain. They called it Fat Friday and they still talk about it out there.
Back to our current weather. This storm evolved about as expected although the bulk of the snow arrived a little later than forecast. In case I haven't mentioned it in the past snowfall is one of the most difficult foreasts. Subtle changes in vertical temperature profiles, moisture content, lift and storm tracks can make a dramatic change in the amount and placement of the snow. Since it stays cold the rest of the week the snow will remain with us with very little melting.
Perhaps another reason I love snow is because my new puppy loves to get out and play in it. It makes me feel like a kid again when I see him romping around in the snow. Here's a pic of "Buddy the Weather Dog". He's a 4 month old Golden Retriever and quite possibly, the best dog ever.
