A Saint Louis author is calling on Saint Louisans to take note of the growing crisis in the African-American community. Deborah Mason's clarion call for a change in behavior coincides with new analysis from the Centers for Disease Control. According to the CDC, young black gay men, black women and white gay men in their 30's and 40's are much more likely to be newly infected with HIV than other groups in the United States.
In the midst of the HIV/AIDS resurgence, Saint Louis-based Food Outreach continues its mission of providing nutritional support to those living with the disease. For more information on Food Outreach, you can visit the organization's website. www.foodoutreach.org
