The writing was on every wall of the Edward Jones Dome tonight as the Rams lost again. It appears that Scott Linehan coached his final game in St. Louis. The powers that be were in meetings as soon as the game was over so clearly it is being talked about at the highest levels.
I don't see how the Rams can't fire Linehan tomorrow. But please as a Rams fan don't hang all of this at Linehan's door. The fact is when a coach gets fired it is a failure for the entire organization and clearly the organization is failing at every level right now. On the field, in the front office, at the box office and in the stands this franchise is a mess.
I don't know who will wind up being the head coach for the rest of the season. In my opinion I would like to see Henry Ellard a life-long Ram named the interim head coach. He is well respected by everyone in the building and I think he could at least stop the bleeding a little.
What I don't want to see is Jim Haslett take over for the rest of the season. He has been one of the biggest failures at Rams Park. Not only the failure of his defense on the field but the open backstabbing of Linehan at Rams Park should not be rewarded. The one thing that has been prevelant at Rams Park since 1999 has been the inter-office politics. Hopefully when the new regime comes into Rams Park that will be one of the first things addressed.
KMOV will be all over this story on Monday and as soon as we hear something we will pass it along.
