Mitchell, Illinois (KMOV.com) – The ARCH helicopter was called to airlift a victim after a train collided with a truck in the Metro East early Sunday morning.

The collision happened at 201 East Chain of Rocks Road near the Mitchell Elementary School  in Madison County around 5:00 a.m.

The victim had to be pulled from the vehicle before being transported by the helicopter to an area hospital. The victim’s condition is unknown.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
