SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- The nonprofit Illinois State Fair Museum Foundation is taking nominations for its Illinoisan of the Day program.
The program spotlights 10 individuals during the Illinois State Fair, which is set for Aug. 7-17 in Springfield. The program honors people who embody integrity, dependability, sense of community and strong ethics.
Nominees must be state residents, 25 or older and have performed service at the state fair or a county fair in Illinois.
The deadline for nominations is June 25. Illinoisan of the Day winners will be announced at the foundation’s annual Corndog Kickoff on July 12 at the Orr Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
