(KMOV.com) – Lansal, Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of hummus and dip products sold at Target and Trader Joe’s.
Approximately 14,860 pounds of hummus and dip products were recalled due to concerns about possible Listeria monocytogense, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people.
The company said the possible contamination was found during a routine test of Target Archer Farms Traditional Hummus by the Texas Department of Health.
No illness has been reported.
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogense include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.
