Police identify man killed after car strikes utility pole in north St. Louis

(KMOV.com)- -- Police have released the identity of a man who was killed when the vehicle he was driving struck a utility pole Friday morning in north St. Louis.

 

According to police, Aaron Clark, 26, was driving south in the 5400 block of Hall at a high rate of speed when he passed another vehicle. While trying to re-enter the lane, he lost control of his vehicle. Police said the vehicle slid across all the traffic lanes before striking a utility pole off the roadway.

Authorities said there were two people trapped in the vehicle who had to be extricated.

Police said Clark was pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old passenger in the car was transported to an area hospital and is listed in critical, unstable condition.
