(KMOV.com) – Parkway School District officials told News 4 they have fired a teacher for inappropriate posts on social media.
Administrators told News 4 the unnamed teacher, who used to work at Parkway South Middle School, was let go after a student found posts on the instructor’s Twitter page.
The district said she posted a picture of a naked man holding his genitals and also posted other inappropriate tweets. The district said she admitted to posting the material.
Administrators also said she violated district policy because she interacted with her students on social media.
"In this case, what the teacher did is she crossed the line a little bit she allowed students to follow her Twitter page and she posted content that was inappropriate probably for anyone but for sure inappropriate for middle school kids, it’s not the behavior we want our teacher to exhibit,” said Parkway administrator Paul Tandy.
The teacher had only been at the school for one year. The district told News 4 parents were sent an email Tuesday informing them of her firing.
