(KMOV) – Two teens are in custody after they allegedly robbed a man in north St. Louis County early Tuesday morning.

According to police, the victim was walking home from work on Natural Bridge near Pine Lawn around 12:30 a.m. when Carlos Blue, 17, began following him.

The teen suspect then tried robbing the victim and shot him. The victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition and underwent surgery.

A Pine Lawn police officer heard gunshots in the area and chased the suspect down. He was taken into custody.

Another Pine Lawn officer arrived and initiated a foot chase with Monte Johnson, 19, who had been acting as a lookout. Police say during the chase the teen tried breaking into a home. He was eventually taken into custody in the 6300 block of Natural Bridge.

Blue and Johnson both face robbery, assault and armed criminal action charges. Johnson also faces burglary charges.
