(KMOV) – IDOT announced they are expanding a program that uses signs that show drivers how fast they are going on all interstate projects with lane closures after a construction worker was killed in 2012.
“Our family pleads with everyone to save another family from this agony,” said Josie Beard, who’s husband was killed in a work zone. “It is still so hard to think two years later still how unfair and senseless it was t take Dennis away from us.
According to IDOT, 28 people lost their lives in Illinois work zones in 2013.
