(KMOV) -- Danario Alexander could have given up. Danario Alexander could have been content with a great career at Mizzou. Danario Alexander could have said 'that's enough,' and no one would have blamed him; but that's not the kind of guy Danario Alexander is.
Alexander had a great career at Missouri and will go down as one of the all time Tiger greats, but his success didn't come easily. During his college days he had four knee operations on the same left knee. A wide receiver needs to stop, start, turn, jump, and adjust so much that after enduring multiple surgeries who knows how one could continue to play such a demanding physical game?
Alexander worked extremely hard in the weight room and in the trainer's room to get back to 100-percent(last Wednesday he said he was close to 100-percent) so Danario deserves everything that has come his way.
Many NFL teams passed him up in the draft, many thought his knee was too banged up and after four surgeries, many believed that the 6'5 wide out's best days were behind him, but the rams did not. After passing physicals the Rams added him to the practice squad; this past week his was moved to the active roster, and Sunday the former MU star shined in his NFL debut. Alexander caught 4 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown from fellow rookie, Sam Bradford. After the touchdown, which he stretched out full extension to receive it, you could see the excitement all over his face.
Though it's been an extremely long tough road, Danario Alexander has made it up the mountain, Danario Alexander has arrived, lets hope he's here for a while.
