(KMOV) -- New jobs will soon be available with Plaze Incorporated in Pacific, Missouri.
Two years ago, Integram Seating closed and 700 workers lost jobs, so the town is anxious for new opportunity. The city even opened up their city hall for a job fair.
People came in by the hundreds. They expected as many as 400 people to show up.
Plaze is a company that is stepping in to fill the vacant Integram plant that made car seats for Chrysler.
The new company fills aerosol cans for a variety of industries, and they set out on Wednesday to fill 20 of the first 100 jobs.
“This community was absolutely devastated when we lost the Chrysler plant along with the Integram factory, and so these folks out here are dying to go to work,” says State Representative Michael Frame.
The state of Missouri invested a million dollars in a development grant to bring the new company, which will start working in the spring.
