Multiple lane closures to affect drivers over the weekend

ST. LOUIS/COLLINSVILLE – The Illinois and Missouri departments of transportation will close lanes and ramps on various interstates in the St. Louis region this weekend, October 8 through October 11. Both agencies will perform various construction work during these closures.

·        MoDOT will close two lanes on eastbound Interstate 64 between 22nd Street and 8th Street in St. Louis City to paint the double deck section of the interstate. Crews will close the lanes at 8 p.m., Friday and will reopen all lanes by 5 a.m., Monday. One lane will remain open throughout the weekend. MoDOT will also close one lane on westbound Interstate 64 between Broadway and 14th Street for painting work. Crews will close the lane at 8 p.m., Friday and will reopen all lanes at 5 a.m., Monday.

-        The eastbound 11th Street exit ramp from Interstate 64 will temporarily close at noon, Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
-       The following ramps on eastbound Interstate 64 will temporarily close at 7 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday:
· Eastbound Forest Park Ave entrance ramp to I-64
· Eastbound Ewing Avenue entrance ramp to I-64
· Eastbound and westbound Pine Street entrance ramp to I-64  


·        MoDOT will close two lanes on eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 between Broadway and Madison in St. Louis City to perform pavement repairs. Crews will close the lanes at 8 p.m., Friday and will reopen one lane at 1 p.m., Saturday. Crews will keep one lane closed from 1 p.m., Saturday and will reopen it at 10 a.m., Sunday. St. Louis city crews will close the exits ramp from westbound I-70 to Branch Street and the exit ramp from eastbound I-70 to St. Louis Avenue and 10th Street from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 9 for a city event.

·        MoDOT will close two right lanes on westbound Poplar Street Bridge for pavement repairs on the bridge. Crews will close the lanes at 8 p.m., Friday and will reopen all lanes by noon, Sunday. Motorists on Interstate 70 are urged to use the Martin Luther King Bridge.

·        MoDOT will close the eastbound Interstate 70 ramp to the Poplar Street Bridge to repair joints on the bridge. Crews will close the ramp at 6 a.m., Saturday and will reopen it by 6 p.m., Saturday. The detour for the ramp closure is southbound Interstate 55, then 7th Street, then Marion to northbound Interstate 55.

·        MoDOT will close the southbound Memorial ramp to the Poplar Street Bridge to repair joints on the bridge. Crews will close the ramp at 6 a.m., Saturday and will reopen it by 6 p.m., Saturday. The detour for the ramp closure is southbound Interstate 55, then 7th Street, then Marion to northbound Interstate 55.

·        MoDOT will close two lanes on eastbound Interstate 44 between Interstate 270 and Shrewsbury in St. Louis County to install pavement markers. Crews will close the lanes at 7 p.m., Friday and will reopen all lanes at 5 a.m., Saturday. Then, crews will close the two lanes at 7:30 p.m., Saturday and reopen all lanes at 5 a.m., on Sunday.

·        MoDOT will close one lane on eastbound Interstate 70 at Route 370 in St. Charles County for bridge repair work. Crews will close the lane at 9 a.m., Friday and will reopen it at 5 a.m., Monday. During the late overnight hours of Friday and Saturday, there will be two lanes closed. Crews will also close two lanes on eastbound and westbound Route 370 at Interstate 70 at 9 p.m., Friday and will reopen it at 2 p.m., Monday.

·        MoDOT will close one lane on eastbound and westbound Dorsett Road at the Interstate 270 interchange in north county to begin the final transition to the new diverging diamond interchange. Crews will close the lane in each direction at 8 p.m., Friday and it will continue through Friday, October 15, when Dorsett Road at the I-270 interchange will close the weekend of October 15-18. All entrance and exit ramps at the interchange will also be closed during the October 15 weekend, and again on the weekend October 22.
