CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois is off to a 2-2 start and coming off the kind of close loss to No. 2 Ohio State that breathes optimism into a rebuilding team.
But Illinois (0-1 Big Ten) hasn't been road tested. That will change Saturday at Penn State (3-2, 0-1).
The Illini opened the season with a neutral-site loss to Missouri in St. Louis. Since then, they've had three games in Champaign.
Wide receiver A.J. Jenkins remembers the last Illinois trip to Penn State. More than 100,000 fans packed Beaver Stadium. Jenkins says he's never heard a louder crowd. But he says he'll relish playing in front of so many hostile fans.
Safety Trulon Henry calls the game a golden opportunity to play for a huge audience -- even if the fans are booing the Illini.
