(KMOV) -- Three people accused of breaking into cars in St. Louis County are in custody.
The suspects were arrested after undercover St. Louis County police officers followed a car with Florida license plates all the way to a gas station in Sauget, Illinois.
News 4 is told that the three people inside the car likely didn't know police were trailing them because the officers were in an unmarked vehicle.
When the car got to the Phillips 66 station in Sauget, that's when the undercover officers called Cahokia police, Illinois state police, and Sauget police to help them.
Officers arrested the four people inside the car.
Sauget police confirm that the three suspects are wanted in connection to breaking into cars at Queeny Park.
The suspects names have not been released.
