(KMOV) -- Fire crews had their hands full Wednesday morning with a house fire in south St. Louis.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. in the 3900 block of Castleman.

That’s in the Shaw neighborhood near Grand and Interstate 44.

A News 4 crew at the scene says that the house was occupied at the time of the fire, but the family made it out safely.

At one point, flames were shooting from the roof, but firefighters now have the flames under control.
