A crowd the size of a small city gathered in Forest Park on Saturday to march their way closer to a cure for diabetes. An estimated 25,000 walked through the park to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. It was the 16th year for the "Walk For a Cure" event. News 4's Russell Kinsaul served as the emcee and helped kick off the event. 1 in 10 St. Louisans has diabetes. Organizers were estimating that the walk would raise $1.4 million dollars. JDRF has raised more than $1.4 Billion for diabetes research, including $101 million in 2009, which funded research projects in 22 countries throughout the world, including more than 40 human clinical trials.
