I'm not a guy that routinely bashes the Pro Bowl voting process. The fact is ever year deserving players aren't voted in but more often than not the guys who are voted in are deserving. That is not the case with the NFC punting situation. The Rams' Donnie Jones is snubbed despite leading the NFL in gross average and being third in net average. He has three of the top five punting days in the league this season.
Jones' average of 50.2 yards per punt is just one yard shy of the all time record for a single season. Yet, the NFC pick at punter, Jeff Feagles of the Giants, is averaging a modest 44 yards per punt. And although his net average is good at 40.1, it falls short of Jones' 40.9 net average.
Feagles is going simply becuase he's on a better team. That's a shame. Donnie Jones is getting screwed. That's an objective observation.
