The St Louis County NAACP plans in the next few days to send letters to area school districts that did not show President Obama's speech to children, accusing them of racism.
It's no small accusation and one that is flatly denied to me by the superintendents and school officials I contacted. Some schools admitted they were flooded with complaints from parents. One school officials told me at first he was flooded with protest and then the day before the speech faced a wave of support for the speech. Districts stood on the ground that the speech was not part of the approved curriculum.
The NAACP board members were firm and unamimous in their decision, believing that race is now eroding respect for the Presidency.
