This may not come as a surprise to some who already have children in school on a full year schedule. But, Education Secretary Arne Duncan is making news by endorsing the proposal of year round school.
It's safe to say that the majority of schools do not have year round schedules, and it seems many districts are reluctant to make the change, mainly over tradition and maybe over the expense of staying open in the summer months.
But on the flip side, there is evidence that those schools that do have year round schedules seem to have better test scores.
I doubt we would find many children who like this idea, but it is something that is now being put into the minds of parents and school officials.
