A spokesman for Gover Jay Nixon told me tonight that it's possible that more jobs will be affected by the current budget crisis in Missouri.
Monday, over 100 workers in the state parks system found out they will be out of work.
Declining revenues show no sign of easing their slide. In this case, with the Department of Natural Resources, state parks rely solely on a tenth of a cent sales tax for funding. That revenue is down 5 million dollars from a year ago, and the job cuts are expected to save about 3 million dollars, after the departmnt already made 8 million in cuts.
The state's budget director earlier this month called the revenue situation "grim", and that many more cuts are needed.
