Motorist may not like them, but the red light cameras in the city are bringing in millions - ten million since the program's inception here. The Director of Operations who oversees the
program says the goal was never money, but public safety. He says the cameras have resulted in up to an 85% decrease in citations at the intersections where they were installed. (They were put in at the city's most dangerous 25 intersections.)
Another thing motorists here are doing is "rolling right turns on red". That will trigger the cameras. You have to come to a complete stop before turning right.
