Police in Lebanon, Illinois are investigating several reports of suspicious people and home break-ins within the same area. Residents who live in the 400 block of Hillcrest tell News 4 they believe the incidents could be related. A police spokesperson said investigators aren't willing to link the two yet, but they could be related. In one instance, two teens rang the door bell of a home in the 400 block of Hillcrest last week around 10pm. That resident tells me that the teens told him they were trick or treating and asked for candy; he refused to give it to them and they eventually left. In the other cases, someone knocked on several doors in the area asking for a person that did not live at the home. Residents fear the people who did not answers their doors had their homes broken into.
