On Monday, Samko Gado was beginning a career in the hospital emergency room. Today, he was taking reps at running back for the St. Louis Rams.
Only time will tell if this turns out to be a bagger at Hy-Vee to Super Bowl champion story, but very interesting to learn about the Rams new running back.
If you haven't yet done so, be sure to check out our Rams Raw Video package on Gado.
Back in May, he had tryouts with the Giants and Patriots, but then the phones stopped ringing. Since then, Gado has trained six days a week on his own--hoping for another chance to stick in the NFL.
A Pre-Med major in college, Gado decided that he should prepare for life after football and had just begun a program as an emergency room attendant at Providence Hospital in South Carolina, when he got the call from the Rams.
Seems Al Saunders remembered him from their time together in Kansas City (2005).
Now, if Steven Jackson is unable to return to game-form, Gado will be backing up Kenneth Darby at running back this Sunday for the Rams. What a difference a week makes.
