I had a chance to interview one of the nicest guys in baseball today - Joe Garagiola. This picture's a little fuzzy, so let me apologize. Joe's got a new book out called "Just Play Ball", and it absolutely had tears falling from my eyes because of some of the funny stories he relates from his years in and around MLB. You can watch the interview on Extra Edition this Saturday at 9:30 am, or watch it streamed here on the website after that. He absolutely treats everyone he meets like he's known them his whole life, and he relates some great moments from growing up on "The Hill".
There was much ado this week about a "dress code" policy for the White House, which basically says no t-shirts or flip-flops. We reported "many visitors" were upset, and thought it was "UNAMERICAN." Do we have no standards in this country anymore? Try going to the local golf course in a t-shirt, or jean shorts for that matter, and they'll tell you thanks, but no thanks. Even golf courses have a dress code!! Why shouldn't we expect people to dress up a little to visit the White House? It's not Wal Mart - it's the White House! Maybe if nothing else, it will teach our children that some things DO still deserve respect.
