Okay, I have done a lot of adventurous things in St Louis. Rappelling from tall buildings, riding wild bulls, even standing in the Dome of Death with motorcycles spinning above my head BUT this is the most frightening of all.
I have entered the Dancing with St. Louis Stars competition. I am teamed with a professional dancer and I must learn a routine and perform it in front of hundreds of people at the Chase.
This could be me one day.
As if that's not enough I have to wear three inch heels and one of those fancy costumes. (I am going for my fitting today and dreading it)
My partner David Nyemcheck is hard core. He competes all over the country and owns his own dance studio. I am not allowed to tell anyone the name of the song we are dancing to, the color of my costume, and heaven help me if I was ever to show anyone any moves from our routine. I can tell you that we are dancing the mambo with a very modern style. Let's just say, "Watch out, Shakira. You don't have anything on this Scotch Irish chick.."
The contest is a benefit for the Independence Center. That's a non profit organization that helps local mentally ill people. The big show is November 2. I'll keep you posted.
