Okay, so maybe I didn't go to the Van Halen concert this weekend. In fact, if I'd had my way, I would have been at Jimmy Buffet Thursday night. But ratings month started that day and me coming in at 3:30 a.m. after a night with the Parrot Heads would have not been smart or pretty.
I went to the March of Dimes March for Babies Saturday. I ran the 5k with Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder. Well, we started off together. I heard he didn't think I would make it back in time for my emcee portion of the event so I had to prove him wrong. I did and I beat him by three minutes. He is such a nice guy and he could be the governor when I smoke him again next year in the run :)
I made a quick trip home last week to see the family. Here is my dad and me outside my favorite barbeque restautant in Birmingham Jim N Nicks. And yes, that "A" on his shirt is for the University of Alabama. Roll Tide!!!
By the way, some guy wrote me an email complaining about my Alabama mug on the news desk. Listen buddy, we Bama fans are proud of our football team. Heck, it's one of the few things we can boast about when we meet outsiders or "yankees" as the southerners call them.
Besides, I ordered a huge Cardinals coffee mug off ebay and it should make its debut on "News 4 This Morning" any day now. I am waiting for it to get here.. Hopefully, it looks like the picture and this seller has class and manners unlike the last one (see blog below) I dealt with.
