I had a chance to cover the "St. Louis Tea Party" as it was termed by organizers on Friday, and so far I'm getting mixed reviews back on our coverage. One guy named Terry was upset because we (KMOV) put a "lack of effort" in to our coverage. Let's see - we covered the entire event, had interviews with the organizer and at least four of the attendees, and video of the tea being dumped in the river. I'm not sure what else I could have done, but then again it's hard to please everyone. I personally thought they had a good turnout for a Friday afternoon. If I was an attendee, it's the Post Dispatch I'd be upset with. Their article Saturday used a lame picture of three people pouring tiny tea bags in to the river, instead of a picture similar to the one I took above, which showed the actual crowd. Shame on the editors at the Post.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ROCKWOOD SWIM CLUB!
This weekend the Rockwood Swim Club won the Ozark Short Course Championship meet at the Rec-Plex in St. Peters. All of the teams competed very hard, and Rockwood was fortunate to escape with a 40-point win (out of thousands of points)! Yes, my kid is a Rockwood swimmer - I'm a proud Dad! Way to go, kids.
