Blues sign defenseman Brendan Bell

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The St. Louis Blues have signed defenseman Brendan Bell, who played with the Ottawa Senators last season.

The 26-year-old played in 53 games with the Senators, recording 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) along 24 penalty minutes.

He also played in 15 games with Ottawa's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

He has played in 101 NHL games, amassing 28 points (seven goals, 21 assists) and 24 penalty minutes.

The Ottawa, Ontario, native was originally drafted by Toronto in the third round, 65th overall in the 2001 Entry Draft.
