St. Peters secretary sentenced to prison for embezzlement

(KMOV)—A secretary in St. Peters was sentenced on Friday for embezzlement.

Andrea M. Wild, 51, an administrative secretary working for a St. Peters business, embezzled $573,388 from her employer.

According to police, Wild’s duties as the secretary included paying her employer’s personal bills. Wild used the blank checks meant for her employer’s personal bills and used them on her own bills, including credit cards bills and home mortgage payments.

The embezzlement lasted from January 2003 to August of 2009 with Wild paying utility bills and personal expenses without the knowledge of her employer.

Wild was charged with one felony count of mail fraud and was sentenced to six months behind bars.

Along with prison time, Wild agreed to forfeit her home in St. Peters, one car and two retirement accounts. These things will make up $300,000 of the proceeds from the illegal activity.
