(KMOV) – The suspect in the shooting of Officer Joseph Haman pleaded not guilty in front of a circuit court judge Tuesday morning.

Arvon Brown, 24, has been charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action and resisting arrest.

Brown has been charged in a shooting that happened around 8:25 a.m. on May 27 in the 3700 block of Grand near Natural Bridge at a Mobile gas station.
Authorities said Officer Joseph Haman, 26, stopped a vehicle at Natural Bridge and Grand. A person from the backseat allegedly fired several shots at the officer while he was talking to them.
The next hearing is set for August 16.
