(KMOV) -- Air conditioner thieves have hit a Washington Park church for the second time in a week.
Thieves used wire cutters to cut through a chain link fence to get to three, year-old air conditioners at Living Word Church on Forest Avenue.
Two were stolen Tuesday night. The remaining unit was stolen Wednesday night.
The units were likely stolen for the copper inside.
The church is hoping the thefts will be covered by insurance.
Programs like serving food to the poor and helping the elderly have stopped at the church due to the lack of air conditioning. The church is also in need of a freezer.
