SIKESTON, Mo. (AP) -- Sikeston police have been seeing more counterfeit money circulating in the area.
Sikeston police said in a news release that they have received a number of reports of fake money being used in the past few months at local businesses.
The Southeast Missourian reports Sunday that businesses are being asked to contact police immediately if they believe they have received fake money. Police also suggest asking the person who passed the bill to wait for the police or writing down any identifying information such as a license plate number.
Sikeston is a city of about 40,000 residents in southeast Missouri.
