(KMOV) -- There is some good news for residents in a north St. Louis high rise living without air conditioning since Tuesday.
Crew were allowed to fix the problem at Cochran Tower after a spare part came in this morning, a couple of days ahead of schedule.
Residents were checked on by paramedics and the owner of the apartment building went door-to-door in the 12-story building.
Fire crews brought in two five-ton air conditioning units to try and cool down the first couple of floors. Buses were brought in for use as cooling centers.
About 20-percent of the residents left the building and stayed with relatives.
