(KMOV) -- Illinois State Police and the U.S. Marshal’s Service have arrested a man wanted in a shooting near East St. Louis High School.
Trenton Jefferson, 20, was arrested Thursday evening at a home in the 600 block of North 56th Street in East St. Louis, Illinois.
Authorities charged Jefferson in May with two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm.
The charges stem from a shooting on May 18, 2010, near East St. Louis Senior High School. Earl Ladd, 19, was shot in the face and the shoulder. According to the Associated Press, Ladd lost the use of his left eye in the gunfire. The shooting happened as school was letting out for the summer.
Jefferson is being held on $300,000 bond.
Ladd was recently arrested as a suspect in a home invasion in Belleville.
