(KMOV) – Missouri is warning seniors to avoid scams involving the federal government’s rebate checks for Medicare users.
The scams typically claim to have seniors send the rebate money through a third party or to buy specific medications.
The $250 rebate checks are tax-free and supposed to cover the “donut hole” in medical coverage.
Medicare users should know that if they receive one of the checks, it's theirs - tax free. No further action should be taken.
