(KMOV) – The Major Case Squad confirms two reported homicides in Pine Lawn are related.

Police say the first incident happened in the 4200 block of Ravenwood Wednesday morning at 9:30. A black male in his late teens/early 20s was found dead inside a home with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Soon after this discovery, investigators took a 17-year-old male into custody. Several others were also taken to police headquarters for questioning.

Police released the teen to his father Wednesday afternoon. A few hours later, the teen's 47-year-old father, Bryant Brooks, was found dead in the 3900 block of Beachwood.

The police chief says he believes the victim in the first incident was shot because of an ongoing feud.

Police have identified persons of interest in the two shootings. No suspects are in custody at this time.
A news conference is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
