(KMOV)--News 4 recently received an e-mail from an owner of some rental buildings in St. Louis.
Kurt Hunter collected $1,400 in cash from his tenants and placed it in an envelope at home. The next morning that money was all gone except for one twenty dollar bill and some shreds of the envelope it was in.
The thief turned out to be an 80lb. chocolate Labrador called Bailey who was rushed to an animal hospital and injected with a vomit inducing drug.
Some of the money was retrieved and the veterinary techs cleaned it, some was destroyed and irretrievable.
Currently Hunter has a Level 4 case with the Mutilate Currency Division of the Treasury, and is trying to get his destroyed money back.
