After 95 incredible years, CID – Central Institute for the Deaf continues to serve children who are deaf and hard of hearing, teaching them to listen and talk without using sign language. Teachers work with students in small ability-based groups where each child learns at their own pace with a curriculum that is tailored to his or her specific needs. CID’s intensive program focuses on language so that students can learn to communicate to their fullest potential and eventually return to mainstream schools with their hearing peers. The results are extraordinary!

The CID Outreach Committee (COC) is a group of young professionals who support the mission of CID by providing volunteering and networking opportunities. The COC's signature event is the annual Trivia Night. This event raises upwards of $16,000 for CID's school programs. COC members also participate in school activities, host happy hour events and represent the organization at local networking functions. Become a member of the CID Outreach Committee (COC) and help children who are deaf and hard of hearing learn to talk without using sign language.

Upcoming Event! On June 17, 2010 join members of the COC for a networking and wine tasting event at the Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton (7435 Forsyth Blvd). Admission is $20 per person. For information, contact Bree DeGraw: 314/977-0163 or bdegraw@cid.edu.
